Our Pupils

At St. Thomas of Canterbury, our children have an important role to play in issues that affect the children themselves. We value the opinions and suggestions made by pupils and encourage them to be responsible members of our school community.

Year 6 Leadership Team

When the children reach Year 6, we believe it is important to give them responsibilities that they can use to gain confidence and skills that will help them to grow as individuals. Although there is a spine of roles that offer continuity throughout the school, leadership roles in Year 6 are tailored each year to best suit the cohort and the individuals within.

Wellbeing Ambassadors

At Saint Thomas of Canterbury we are passionate about the wellbeing of your children. To ensure that everyone works collaboratively together we give certain pupils the opportunity to become wellbeing ambassadors. These pupil representatives have a special responsibility for leading and promoting the wellbeing of the school population. Each class within school has a ‘Wellbeing Ambassador’ which has been elected by a member of staff for their kindness, ability to listen, to not judge others and to give sound advice.

Collectively, these pupils work across the school as peer supporters and wellbeing campaigners – wellbeing ambassadors are at the very heart of our school wellbeing work. These are not necessarily isolated roles; the wellbeing ambassadors work together with a particular focus, e.g. anti-bullying, mental health, online safety, etc. They contribute to the running of the school; making decisions, helping to support other pupils, run surgeries for other pupils to drop in and talk to them about their worries and have regular contact with staff to ensure open communication.

Our Wellbeing Ambassadors are:

  • Aidan
  • Emily
  • Mia D
  • Livia
  • Oscar
  • Piotr Z
  • Anabel
  • Olivia F
  • Millie H
  • Reagan
  • David P
